And Ames or Dhurchuk in Uttarakhand.
A resilient superberry that survives freezing temperatures, strong winds, high altitudes, and rocky terrain where very few plants can survive.
What amazed me was not just the berry itself, but the way the people of Ladakh had quietly trusted it for generations.
The berries were vibrant.
The taste was intense.
And the nutritional value was unlike anything we had seen before.
At that moment, we realized something surprising:
